The church exists primarily to share and proclaim Jesus Christ. When the church shifts its focus from the ministry of the Word to other activities, it diverges from its divinely ordained purpose as outlined in scripture. This deviation transforms the church into a mere social gathering that strays from the essence of the gospel and God's intended mission.
Jesus Christ, the Word incarnate, fulfilled the entirety of the law's demands through His crucifixion and resurrection as the Lamb of God. This fulfillment liberates believers from the confines of legalistic observance and cultural nationalism, as exemplified in Judaism. The New Testament consistently highlights that the church's sole purpose is to share and bear witness to Christ, ensuring that believers understand this foundational truth.
In the eyes of God, external rituals and formalities hold no value; what matters is the circumcision of the heart—a transformation that reflects genuine faith and devotion. This theological principle is clearly articulated in Jesus' teachings, the practices of the early church in the Acts of the Apostles, and the doctrinal instructions found in the epistles. Those who cling to tradition and external forms, failing to embrace the liberty found in Christ, are akin to the foolish Galatians who, having begun in the Spirit, seek to be perfected by the flesh (Gal3:3). Such individuals are cautioned against forsaking the grace that enables them to live in the freedom of the gospel, as true freedom in Christ transcends all forms and ceremonies.
