Fruit

While a noble character may manifest in a person, we cannot automatically assume that its fruit is the work of the Holy Spirit. Similarly, we cannot attribute the commendable character seen in followers of other religions, or those with no religious affiliation, to the fruit of the Spirit. Additionally, the concept of religious pluralism—which groups different religions, including Christianity, under the same umbrella due to shared virtues like love and forgiveness, and acknowledges the salvation beliefs of each—is not aligned with biblical teaching.
The Bible teaches that salvation is solely through the grace of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, and that the fruit of the Spirit is not something humans can produce on their own. Rather, it is the Holy Spirit who cultivates this fruit within us through the process of sanctification, as He shapes God’s chosen people. In other words, the fruit of the Spirit, as described in scripture, is the result of the Holy Spirit’s work, not human effort. Therefore, believers are called to quietly and humbly seek God’s Kingdom and His will, dedicating their time and focus to prayer and the study of God’s Word in the spaces they have.
