Prayer is not a means of granting human will and wishes, but rather a way of reminding people that they are in God's will. Praying is seeking the will of Christ, so the fulfillment of human desires is not what the Bible promises as the answer to prayer, but rather the work of the Holy Spirit who works among humans to pursue God's will.
When praying in the name of Jesus, human desires should not be the primary focus. The Lord's Prayer taught by Jesus clearly shows that God's will is accomplished on earth as it is done in heaven. In other words, human will and desires need to be deleted. The prayer that only accomplishes God's will is the prayer that is made in Jesus' name.
Jesus sought God's will before being crucified. The crucifixion was God's complete will, and it became even clearer when he was hanged on the cross. Judas Iscariot's betrayal of Jesus was necessary for the crucifixion to take place. Peter was the one to deny Jesus three times more severely compared to Judas Iscariot. Peter’s righteousness vanished due to his lack of faith being exposed. Persecution was necessary to establish the Antioch church and spread the gospel after the revival of the Jerusalem church. God's will is the sole cause of everything that happens in this world, good or bad.
The Word of God does not imply that humans become spiritual or have a high spiritual level by understanding it. No spiritual master or person has existed since the beginning of history. That is why the Bible reveals the disgrace of Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David. However, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David were used as tools by God. If we truly comprehended the Word, we should recognize that we are also weak and nonsensical beings and in need of entrusting ourselves and our lives to God.
