Immutable Human Beings

Because of the sin of Adam, the first man who ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the original sin that is continuously transmitted to mankind makes humans forget their original position. As a consequence, man desires to live as an independent being in a world without God, fulfilling his aspirations and leaving behind his name and reputation. In the Bible, living a life for God's will and glory is the reason and purpose of a believer, not self-fulfillment. However, it's not possible for anyone to deny himself as long as he has a human body.
Whether people work diligently to accumulate wealth or go on the path of ascetic practices after selling all their possessions and distributing to the poor, these are all acts to show themselves or to gain their inner satisfaction. I am uncertain about the superiority of either side to human beings, but from the Bible's perspective, they are all humans living in sin. Moreover, the act of believing in Jesus does not change a person. You do not need to look elsewhere for an immutable human being because you can easily see yourself that is always immutable.
Readers of the Bible do not become more holy by faith or become more like Christ, but fall into a place where the sins hidden in them are revealed one by one through the word. Therefore, they cannot even think of salvation without the blood of Jesus Christ. Rather than filling their own value through the word, their hypocrisy, pretense, and self-righteousness are revealed through the word, and they are led to a place where they depend only on Jesus.
Jesus' severe rebuke of the religious leaders, such as the priests and Pharisees, does not refer to anyone else, but to ourselves. Israel's history, which was brutally destroyed by the Gentiles, is not about other countries, but about the life we have lived so far. The eyes of God's flame-like judgment reveal the same sins and sinners, whether our sins are visibly revealed a little thicker or concealed within us. The Bible indirectly reflects Jesus' direct scolding and curses on us, and the actual destruction of Israel is only delayed in our reality. That is why Jesus, who is God, had no other choice but to take up the cross for the chosen children of God before the world was created, and there is no way to be saved except to confess Jesus as Christ.
