Salvation means that helpless human beings are saved through the holy grace of God, just as the newborn Moses was saved from the Nile. Since there is no human merit or labor in the beginning and completion of salvation, there is no choice but to remain silent when deeply meditating on the Word and following the Word of God as the Bible shows. But some people always want to display their righteousness and go through life under the delusion that they know something more than others. Their tongues are full of poison, and of course they hurt the people around them because they boast of their own righteousness and their knowledge with the intention of revealing their own righteousness.
With respect to world knowledge, people have a lot to say when they get a degree and a license, and it is natural to teach those who need that knowledge. However, the more we know the Word of God, the more we realize that we have been saved by the unconditional love and grace of God within His absolute sovereignty. As a result, we will speak less and choose the path of consideration, encouragement, and harmony with others in Christ due to the aroma of Christ caused by the love of God.
The religious leaders who appeared in the Bible had an in-depth understanding of the Old Testament. However, Jesus reprimanded them severely. The knowledge of God does not mean memorizing and knowing many of the stories in the Bible and their contents. The knowledge of God is expressed in love for souls and in the love of Christ that has us seek to be at peace with those with whom we live our life of faith. Self-denial means ultimately ceasing to boast about ourselves and getting rid of the delusion that we are superior to others, knowing that we are in our original place, namely the place of Moses, a newborn in a basket made of papyrus reeds floating on the Nile, and humbly trusting the Lord alone. Maranatha!
